We all know that 7-Elevens are way better in Asia than they are in the U.S. Honestly, pretty much all convenience stores in Korea are better than those in the U.S. The standard is just so much higher—and it’s expected. Back home, I’d only rarely run into a 7-Eleven to grab an energy bar or a bottle of water while stopping for gas. Let’s face it, we kind of expect them to be bare minimum.
But here in Korea, 7-Eleven is anything but bare. It's the go to place for some kimbap or an onigiri, a quick ramen lunch, a pouch drink and ice cup on a hot summer day, a late night soju run, or to just casually browse around for new and exciting treats.
That casual browsing is exactly how I stumbled upon the unique Oreo flavors Korea has to offer. From cinnamon bun Oreos to tiramisu Oreos, it got me thinking. “Hey, why not use these cool flavors in some baking recipes?” And just like that, the series: Another Day, Another Oreo was born.
I’m on a little mission to uncover unique Oreo flavors in Korean convenience stores and transform them into exciting baked goods. Whether it’s stuffing them inside a chocolate chip cookie or using them as a crumble for a coffee cake, I’ll reinvent these Oreos and share the recipes with you! Even if you don’t have these exact Oreos you can still substitute with what you do have and we can get creative together.
So, let’s explore some Korean convenience stores and do some baking~~
